My Bucket List Trips

Patagonia

Ever since I first saw photos of Torres de Paine National Park, I have wanted to go to Patagonia. I don’t know if it’s because of the jagged peaks and luminous lakes that seem to change color with the sky, or the promise of fresh air and immersion in nature, but I imagine it’ll feel like I’m very far away and surrounded by some of the best scenery the world has to offer.  I need to visit soon and make sure to stay at the Tierra properties.

Southeast Asia

It’s always been a dream of mine to take a month away and travel around Southeast Asia. I want to eat street food in Saigon, swim with whale sharks in the Philippines, and stare in awe at the majesty of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. In reality, it’s a big bucket list made up of smaller bucket lists.

Yacht around Alaska

I’ve been dreaming of visiting the majestic Alaska on a small and intimate cruise ship. I know the scenery and wildlife will be absolutely incredible to witness, and there’s no better way to experience our gorgeous 49th state than onboard a cruise ship. The excursions available, including glacier hikes and dog sled rides, would without a doubt be unforgettable.

New Orleans

Last year, my husband and I took a quick trip to Charleston to walk the streets, explore wonderful restaurants, and just unwind in a town that moves at a different pace. We fell in love with the southern charm abound. Next on my southern city bucket-list is New Orleans. It’s a quick and direct flight away from almost anywhere, has beautiful architecture, great food, great music and tremendous history. It is an ideal romantic getaway, family vacation, or party destination.

Bora Bora

There is nothing more beautiful than looking out to crystal clear turquoise blue waters. This is exactly what you get in Bora Bora in one of the overwater bungalows available at several resorts. Most come with a crystal clear floor that you can see straight into the water to the beauty of the sea. I have always dreamt of going down a water slide directly into the ocean, climbing up a ladder, and laying down on a hammock with a cocktail.

New Zealand

I spent time in Australia when I was younger, but unfortunately did not have enough time to go to New Zealand. With 15,000 miles of coastline the country is home to so many amazing beaches. But New Zealand is not just about the beaches as there is so much more to explore. New Zealand has a great mix: beaches, wineries, olive groves, hiking – you name it!

Japan

Being one of the biggest sushi lovers around, I need to find my way to Japan soon! I need to eat my way through every Omakase in Tokyo and after I have gorged myself, I want to visit the gorgeous gardens and witness the beauty of the snow-covered mountains.
